Well, it’s been awhile, hasn’t it? I spent a really lovely weekend at the beach with a couple of my girlfriends, sewing and chatting and making delicious food.
We worked on a wedding quilt, a camping “stuff sack” (fully lined and with a strap, I might add), and I finished piecing and quilted the Sophisticated Boy quilt. I loved doing this quilt because I was designing and re-designing up until the very last minute.
After three days of binding on the subway, I am finally done. The sides in this picture look randomly bulged out, I think I will probably not hang such large quilts this way again (it is 48×48).
Here is my favorite part – the back! It’s got kind of a southwestern or tribal feel that I am really enjoying.
And isn’t the circus-y chevron binding so fun?
And last but not least, I’ve made a tiny bit of process on our wedding quilt, now about half quilted in freestyle loopy design. This is so much fun, but too bad it takes 2 hours for each quarter of the quilt…sigh. I can definitely say I will not be quilting something this size for a long while, if ever again!

What are you working on this week?
